Meet The Doctors

Dr. George Fatula

George Fatula, MD, came to DuBois in 1974 with the thoughts of planting roots for his family and his practice.

Instead, he planted a legacy.

The son of a steel mill worker and a native of Duquesne, he is a graduate of Duquesne High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Washington and Jefferson College with Phi Bata Kappa and magna cum laude honors. He received his medical degree in 1971 from the University of Pittsburgh and had spent July 1972 to June 1974 as an intern and resident at Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh, specializing in pediatric and adolescent medicine.

He was recruited by the DuBois and Maple Avenue Hospital Medical Resources Committee to be the first pediatrician in DuBois. He came to DuBois with his wife Renetta Fatula and their children and opened his practice.

Today, he and his fellow physicians now sees patients in DuBois, Punxsutaweny and Brookville. He has been active in many community organizations, including Boy Scouts of America, Little League and DuBois Area High School football. He is a deacon in his church.

Dr. Fatula was also honored in 2006 as the Pennsylvania Pediatrician of the Year but the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Fatima Malik

Dr. Fatima Malik, pediatrician, received her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash., and her medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University (Medical College of Virginia) in Richmond, Va.

She did her pediatric residency and was chief resident in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Hospital in Newark, N.J.

A native of Botnell, Wash., she lives in DuBois with her husband, Dr. Hamayun Ahmed, a psychiatrist, and son. She enjoys reading, outdoor activities and playing with her son.

Dr. Naehal Patel Marra

Pediatrician Dr. Naehal Patel Marra is originally from London, England. She moved to Philadelphia for the remainder of her education, and she received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with cum laude honors from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. She then received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Marra did her internship at Massapequa General Hospital in Seaford, N.Y., as well as the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. She went on to complete her pediatric residency at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. She also served as chief resident during her final year.

Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, she holds active medical licenses in Pennsylvania, California and West Virginia.

She works in the Gateway Area Medical Associates office, and her upbeat personality fits well with our younger patients and their families. She and her husband, Dr. Timothy Marra, live in DuBois with their family.

Dr. Raja Saradar

Dr. Raja Saradar is a board certified pediatrician, specializing in the medical care of patients from birth through college age.

"I enjoy pediatrics because it gives me the chance to take care of kids and watch them grow up slowly to become young adults and parents. It gives me satisfaction to be a part of their lives," Saradar said.

She has an impressive history in children’s health. Saradar received her medical degree from the University of Damascus Medical College of Syria and performed her internship at Mouassat University Hospital in Damascus. She did her pathology residency at the University of Pittsburgh and her pediatric residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Saradar has worked as an independent contractor with the Allegheny County Health Department at a well-baby clinic in Pittsburgh. She also previously worked as a pediatrician for Forbes Regional Health Center, Dr. L.J. Silberman and Associates in White Oak, St. Francis Health System in Pittsburgh and in private practice.

Dr. Brian Philip Vaske

Dr. Brian Philip Vaske, pediatrician, comes with impressive education experience and a desire to provide quality pediatric care to the children and adolescents of our area.

Vaske received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, and his degree in osteopathic medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie.

He did his traditional osteopathic rotating internship at University Hospitals Health System-Richmond Heights Hospital, Richmond Heights, Ohio, where he was co-intern of the year. He did his pediatric residencies at Palms West Hospital, Loxahatchee, Fla., and University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital, Lexington, Kty.

Dr. Desiree M. Webb

Pediatrician Desiree M. Webb was highly recommended and has a great resume of pediatric training and experience before coming to DuBois.

"I was thrilled to have the opportunity to join the practice and work with such a distinguished group of physicians," Webb said. "The move brought me close to family. The Webb family has been in Clearfield County for generations."

Webb received her bachelor’s degree in biochemical sciences cum laude from Harvard University. She received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University. She did her internship and residency at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital in Loma Linda, Calif.

She is a diplomate of the Federation of State Medical Boards of the U.S. and the American Board of Pediatrics. Webb is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

She was in private practice in the Harrisburg area until now. She was formerly the medical director of pediatric services at Sheppard Air Force Base Hospital in Texas and a major in the U.S. Air Force.

Dr. James K. Fugate Jr

James K. Fugate Jr., pediatrician, returned to the area in 2011 and brought back his high level of skill and medical knowledge to the practice. He earned a bacholer's degree in chemistry from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL, before completing a master's degree in Biophysics at Penn State.

He completed his medical degree at Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, and his pediatrics internship and residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Mass.

He has held both medical and education positions throughout his career and had previously worked at DRMG Pediatrics for nearly 14 years. He has special training in immunizations, infectious disease and autism.

Emily Bish, PA-C

Emily Bish, physician assistant, is a native of the region and was excited when she found out she would be "coming home" to care for the region's youth. Bish received a bachelor's degree in Biobehavioral Health from Penn State University and a masters of Health Science Degree from Lock Haven University. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. A graduate of Brockway Area High School, she began her career working in family medicine near Harrisburg.

Carol Reherman, PA-C

Carol Rehermann, physician assistant, has been caring for infants, children and adolescents of DuBois and the surrounding communities for more than 30 years.

She began her career in pediatrics when she joined the private practice of pediatrician/neonatologist W. John Siar, M.D., who served as her primary supervising physician and mentor until his retirement in 2008.

Rehermann is a native of Connecticut, where she attended Fairfield University. She was a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta , a pre-medical honor society, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. in biology. She then graduated from the first accredited King’s College Physician Assistant Program. She maintains certification through the NCCPA and is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine.

Rehermann and her family live in DuBois where they are active in school and church activities.
